Isca is one of the many mutants that reside on Okkara in ancient times. When her sister, Genesis, gives birth to four children Isca celebrates by forging the Scarab. The Scarab is a might sword in four parts, which she gifts to her brother by marriage, Apocalypse. This blade becomes a symbol of the Genesis line of Okkara.

When the Amenthi Daemons bring war to Okkara, Isca defends her home land for quite some time. Unfortunately, the tide of the war eventually turns against Okkara and Isca's powers realize this. Thus, they force her to betray her family to ensure that she is on the “winning” side and join Annihilation's army.

Thousands of years later, Isca sends a message to her sister at Annihilation's order. If Genesis can defeat the dark god in combat, Arakko will be saved. This is ultimately a trap, however, as defeating Annihilation condemns the warrior to bond with the Golden Helm of Annihilation and have their will subjugated. While this leads to centuries of torment for Genesis, it also reunites Isca with her family under the dark banner of Annihilation.

After Apocalypse uses ancient magic to open a portal to Arakko, a great contest of Ten Swords is commended. Isca is among the Swordbearers of Arakko that challenge Krakoa's champions. Isca wins every challenge before her, starting with defeating Captain Britain, Betsy Braddock. When Krakoa proves victorious, Annihilation goes back on the agreement and summons its army to conquer Krakoa. Towards the end of the battle, Isca is again compelled to betray her family by joining her brother by marriage on the side of Apocalypse.

Following the defeat of Annihilation, Arakko and its people are returned to earth where it appears next to its sibling Krakoa. Isca is among the ruling council of Arakko, the Great Ring, and is approached by Xavier and Magneto with a peace offering. Isca agrees to take this offer to the other members but chides the young mutants as “children running a children's government.”

Arakko and Krakoa find it difficult to reunite after so long apart. So, when Magneto and the other Krakoan mutants terraform Mars, Arakko along with its people are more than happy to teleport there and start a new life.
