Who the Clix? Firelord

Pyreus Krill comes from Xandar and is a graduate of the Nova Corps Academy. He serves on a Xandarian ship under the command of Gabriel Lan where the two become close friends. Gabriel is eventually abucted by Galactus and transformed into his herald, Air-Walker. Pyreus assumes command as captain and begins to obsessively search for Gabriel. Pyreus finds Galactus’ ship and confronts him, demanding to know the fate of his friend. Galactus agrees to tell Pyreus, if Pyreus will agree to serve him as a herald. Pyreus agrees only to learn that Gabriel was killed in battle.

Galactus transforms the Xandarian into Firelord. As Firelord, he serves as herald to Galactus for quite some time before asking for his freedom. Galactus agrees to free Firelord if he can find a replacement. This sends Firelord to Earth where he battles Thor and Hercules. Learning of the deal with Galactus, Thor helps Firelord gain his freedom by presenting the Destroyer armor to Galactus which is then animated with the Power Cosmic. Firelord then counts Thor as a friend and helps the Asgardian when he needs it. Firelord is later fooled into battling the X-Men by the Shi’ar Erik the Red.

Firelord has several other adventures involving the heroes of Earth, including a confrontation with Spider-Man, aiding the Avengers against Nebula, assisting the Silver Surfer several times as well as helping Nova and the New Warriors battle Supernova.

Firelord, Red Shift, Stardust and other heralds battle the Annihilation Wave. Firelord is greatly wounded by Annihilus’ forces and unable to prevent the destruction of Xandar. Once he recovers, he sets out to seek revenge for the death of his home world.
