Professor Honeycutt is a Neutrion scientist who helped Krang because he believed Krang was helping to defend his race. In short time, Honeycutt realized that Krang actually aims to commit mass genocide. Honeycutt develops the Simulated Anthropomorphic Life form (or SAL for short) for dangerous exploration, the android is able to be used remotely with a helmet that connects a mind to its controls. Soon after, Honeycutt's wife, Marra, convinces him to join the Neutrino resistance. Months later, Krang's armies attack Honeycutt's home and set it ablaze. Honeycutt uses SAL to save his family at the cost of his own mortal form, becoming trapped in the android's body. His joy is short-lived, however, as one of Krang's officers named Sergeant Granitor orders an attack on the fleeing families. Honeycutt, still trapped in the home, can only watch those he intended to save, die.
Honeycutt returns to his lab ahead of Krang's men and escapes through a portal he had been working on. The portal leads Honeycutt to New York City where he uses the camouflage feature of the android body to hide as a blonde human. He takes on the name Chet Allen and begins working under Baxter Stockman, who himself serves Krang. Chet uses his position to spy on Krang's activities as well as allying himself with the Foot Clan, in hopes they will help him defeat Krang and his men.
Once April O'Neil, another of Stockman's lab assistants, becomes involved with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Chet reveals his true identity. Honeycutt helps the Turtles set up a massive plan involving the Foot and Krang's men hopefully defeating each other. During this time, Honeycutt sabotages Krang's Technodrome, a massive device meant to transform Earth's atmosphere to more closely resemble his home planet from Dimension X.
